The heart of the Gibbston Valley in Central Otago is home to Alan Brady’s Mount Edward winery. Pinot Noir and Riesling are the key grape varieties, with the team placing great emphasis on allowing the wines to express their terroir. The near continental climate provides Pinot Noir with ideal growing conditions. Care and effort is taken in the vineyard to restrict crop levels and manage the vine canopy. The chief winemaker, Duncan Forsyth, believes that his grape varieties should be allowed to show a ‘natural expression of site and season’.
