Royal Brackla 18 Year Old 46% ABV

A wonderful release from Highland distillery Brackla. The single malt has been finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks for a sumptuously spicy whisky. There’s a refreshed bottle design too, which shows off the cask type used in its production. Well-aged, well-integrated, and all-round delicious. 

Tasting note:

Nose: The warming spices immediately soar from the glass: ginger biscuits, bold fruits, cocoa powder and a barley creaminess.

Palate: Fruits become more precise on the palate, with sultanas and figs lifted by apricots and apples. Cake batter brings a roundness.

Finish: Medium length with spice and oakiness.
