Port Askaig 8 Year Old 45.8% ABV

A single malt Scotch from Islay – but the distillery remains undisclosed. It gives everything we love about the whiskies from the island, from coastal peat to complex richness. It’s the youngest age statement in the Port Askaig range (which recalls the ferry port on the North East of the island). A wonderfully enjoyable dram.

Nose: A bold, round smoke on the nose, with hints of lemon, creamy caramel and salt water taffy. There’s  popcorn with a caramel sea salt note.

Palate: Just like summer on the shores of Islay, there’s sea salt and toffee apples, a dash of balsamic with sweet red peppers, warming smoke and caramel sauce mixed with hints of seaweed.

Finish: Long and lingering with smoke and seaweed.
